Hello Friends! I just got back from a whirlwind tour that took me to Denver, Florida, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Brooklyn, and NYC..whew!! After a long travel day back to the bay I'm ready to start getting serious about my new CD, City by the Bay. Thanks to your belief in me and an open touring schedule, I have the time and resources to begin the project.
The next few days will be spent narrowing down a long list of songs to 8-10 and then deciding which of my brilliant colleagues will best suit the individual songs. I'm neck deep in schedules (everyone tours a lot!) and charts and I'm hoping to have the first recording session in late January. My goal is to finish recording by April. I've always felt my biggest strength is in motivating and organizing people to manifest a specific goal and now I get to take that challenge on.
My plan is to get some audio clips up very soon with me playing the tunes on the CD by myself so you can follow along the entire process. It will be fun for you to hear tunes develop from the beginning to the rough mixes to the final product; after all, you are helping produce the music through your generous contributions. If you're reading about this for the first time, this is a fan-funded production and December was a month of fund raising to get things off the ground. Hot Buttered Rum is going to have a big summer festival season so I have a small window here to make this recording before I hit the road again. We're taking a short break while Bryan and Willow welcome their son to the world in February.
While I was able to raise enough to get started, I'm still hoping to raise about $6000 more to ensure proper distribution and replication once the recording is done. Many people are "hiring" me and other musicians for private events, which is a GREAT way to donate funds and a gauranteed way to have a memorable evening. Please visit:

I played some of the tunes from the upcoming album to my musician friends on Jamcruise last week and they are all so excited to contribute their talents which is a total honor from my perspective.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my soul for your love and support through the years, together we can make magic!!
Love,
Aaron |
