The Twelve Days of Butter – Day 2

Today we go to the second track of the album, “Let the Love Come Through Me.” Here’s what composer Erik Yates has to say about this one:

“Another tune written quickly, with the exception of the bridge. It’s not always easy to stay in touch with the heart, but I’ve noticed things go better for everyone involved when I do. I was really happy with Steve Berlin’s arrangement changes on this, as well as his choice to add Asher Fulero’s organ as a little dab of sonic glue.”

Here’s a video we made awhile ago with a little help from our friends. Really fun shoot!

LET THE LOVE COME THROUGH ME             -Erik Yates

If Iʼve been out drinkinʼ or if Iʼm dry as a bone, let the love come through me.

If Iʼm in my livinʼ room or if Iʼm so far from home, let the love come through me

Let the love, let the love, let the love come through me, yeah

Let the love, let the love, let the love come through me

ʻCause I donʼt care what the love gonna do to me, yeah

Just let the love, let the love, let the love come through me

If Iʼm lyinʼ next to the woman of my dreams, let the love come through me

If Iʼm sad and lonely and runninʼ out of steam, let the love come through me

I donʼt care what the world wanna bring my way

Long as the air that I I breathe is keepinʼ me alive

If I wake up above ground then Iʼll call it a good day

Yeah, and be glad to survive . . .

If I get everything that I am workinʼ for, let the love come through me

If I stay the way I am or if I try for more, let the love come through me
